Thousands of Kansas City area residents collected recyclables for the Heart of the Heartland sculpture.

The white artic area is milk jugs, forest areas are green 2 litre soda bottles, mountainous areas are brown grocery bags full of newspaper, the center heart is red aluminum cans and the ocean is a light blue plastic mesh with aluminum cans for the sparkles.

About 3000 people filled the larger heart around the earth, to show their care and concern.
