Broccoli Flat 3/1/04

Broccoli in the center, collards to the left.
Broccoli in the center, collards to the left.

On February 9 we planted early broccoli, cabbage and collard seeds in flats. On 2/25 we planted some more broccoli. If you plant broccoli too early it could freeze or head early if it gets too many night or 45 degrees F or below. If you plant it too late the heat gets to it in our climate. We don't know what the weather is going to do so we will plant both early and later to be ready for either eventuality. Ben at KC Community gardens says the earliest they will be ready is 3/15.

The plants that we do not plant we will sell. If you want some broccoli, cabbage of collard plants call around March 12

Volunteers please call.
