Our neighborhood EcoTeam has brought up the possibility of educating people about not dumping used motor oil and other chemicals into stormdrains and ultimately into our rivers.
One proposition is to get kids involved through their schools or through EcoKids. They would seek out and mark drains with fun, colorful fishes, etc. for a positive, but powerful reminder.
We could also get some good PR mileage out of this.
Anyone know of any other groups doing this in KC?
